About Spreets.com.au

Launched in February 2010, Spreets features a daily deal on the best things to do, see, eat and buy in cities across Australia.

Cool deals

Spreets scours your city for cool deals, exciting adventures, brilliant restaurants and luxuriously pamperlicious treatments and then puts them up for your buying pleasure.

We find the best deals, package up the savings and serve them up in to your inbox daily.

We think it’s an exciting and fun way to see, do, eat, revive and indulge yourself with the best your city has to offer. Simple really!

How do we choose a deal?

Our guide to a great deal is based on what we ourselves would like to see. Is it great value? Is the business reputable? Is the experience bound to be memorable? Is the product the best of its kind? In a nutshell; we want your experience to be special – so that you enjoy and come back to our site and our business partners.

Customer service?

You bet. Like you, we’re over endless ‘on-hold-a-thons’ and email support that takes days. If you contact us, we’ll do what we can as fast as we can. If we can’t, we’ll let you know and why.

It’s simple; Spreets should be a great experience – before you buy, when you buy, after you buy.

Great Experiences
This is fun. Believe us, once you get hooked on an unbeatable offer, you take a stake in making it happen. The next step is the easiest in the world. Tell someone. Tell lots of people about this great deal and ask them to register for it. The catch is the deal is only live for 24 hours.

Not good!! I have the local deals in Brisbane emailed to me. I have purchased a voucher for my wife and I to have a massage and the voucher came through fine although we haven’t tried to use it yet. The second deal I signed up for got the successful email in minutes, Spreets deducted from my credit card and nothing – no voucher, no contact, no customer service after many emails and requests to contact me NOTHING!! there is no phone number to call so they hide behind the email. I know they have got the email because you get an automated response stating they will get back to you – don’t believe it.

I have to say I agree with Paul. It should not take a third party to resolve these issues. I have had mixed results with Spreets. When the vouchers work they are amazing. I have had some very wonderful businesses providing marvelous food and service. When the vouchers don’t work or you have an issue the customer service approach from Spreets is very ad hoc and mostly ludicrously slow. They have a forum they do not monitor except to remove negative feedback and they do not respond to emails quickly as both their website and facebook page imply they do. I have also had Tom email me and promise me something would be sorted out only to still be trying to deal with the issue 3 to 6 months later. Surely the fact he needs to ask the ticket # issued is enough of an indication that their customer service system is flawed. If they have a ticket # should their complaint (mine too) not have been dealt with. I have had a few hiccups with http://www.deals.com.au and not only have they responded rapidly but they provide a phone number to follow up if you chose to. If Spreets are serious about customer service (they apparently are close to selling their 500,000th voucher) then I seriously think they should consider advertising a phone number as well as ensuring they follow up on the email support requests.

I wholeheartedly agree with you, Lisa. And I love the way you expressed what you had to say. I went public with my issue hoping to motivate Spreets into a response after failing to receive the customer service they purport to offer. A company that only responds when an issue is aired publicly does not win customer loyalty. And, in fact, I have yet to receive the refund that Tom states has been made to me. However, if it does not come through in the next few days, I will come back to the public forum again. That seems to be the way to get action with Spreets. Or at least, the promise of action.
Thanks for the tip about Deals by the way. I’m going to check them out.

Lisa March 31, 2011 at 2:08 am

Hi Cheryl,
Thank you for your reply. Have you checked the Spreets site? They may have given you the credit as a refund. I can’t remember if I checked they had given me my credit or just believed them – I will have to check.
Do check out Deals they have some great offers and I have had some of my responses answered in as little time as 2 hours. I think I have bought about the same number of deals from each site but I am so much happier with issue resolution from Deals.
Good luck getting your refund. Given Spreets was purchased by Yahoo7 for a reported $40 mil it might be worth going to the consumer affairs department in your state to get the issue resolved. Perhaps if enough people start making complaints they will do something about it.

Cheryll Grier March 31, 2011 at 6:32 am

Great to hear your viewpoint, Lisa. Thank you for that. And guess what? I received my refund back on my credit card today, so Spreets hopefully is making a real effort to bring their customer service up to scratch.

Paul Hollis March 3, 2011 at 9:05 am

I just find it so frustrating that Spreets are just ignoring me and from the additional info on the net I am not the only one!! I will do all I can to find a phone number for them and when I do I will let all the others know.

Hey Sheldon – thanks for your input in the above but….. should it have to get to a third party intervention? why cant Spreets fix up their customer service or at least give a phone number that a disgruntled customer can actually call and speak to a real human being. I know its way out there suggesting a phone number but hey, it used to work!!

Reply

You’re right Paul, it is amazingly rare to find a phone number on any of these daily deal websites.

Looks like Spreets is fast becoming known as one of the dodgier sites to shop on, they are losing customers quite quickly. I have not had a problem with similar sites. I am also waiting for a response from a request to reimburse, my voucher was incorrectly advertised as Nationwide however then I was told it was not available in my suburb which is close to the CBD, false advertising is illegal Mr Spreets. I am waiting to see how long and if you reply before I call the ombudsmon it is time you put up a phone number and stopped hiding behind generic emails, you are inconveniencing your customers. My request no is #26628, so Paul if you are reading this can you motivate your team to sort this asap, thankyou Michelle

Conversely, dont know about other people but Jumponit was the first one of these sites I’ve used and so far I havent had any problems, touch wood. Maybe just need to refocus my loyalties. I’m so very disappointed at the support team at spreets I have created three different case numbers out of frustration hoping to get a response to at least one!!!

I simply wanted a refund because I was not satisfied with what I bought as I did not appreciate the customer service of the company which I purchased from.

I have requested a refund from spreets before and the matter was dealt with a lot quicker then the refund I’m asking for now and at least at the time I was getting constant feedback at the status of the refund.
Now I’m requesting for another one with a value of $129 spreets are suddenly silent, I am getting absolutely no response, not even an update of what is happening with the refund.Iinstead I have received automated responses that don’t even relate to my query, and have deemed the problem as solved, when clearly it isn’t!.

I am really disappointed at the lack of response from the spreets staff on this matter, all I’m asking for is a Refund. It’s clear that no one is actually reading these emails otherwise I’ll be receiving a proper response that actually addresses my query!
I would like this issue addressed and dealt with as soon as possible. The deals are usually pretty good with spreets but after seeing the lack of customer service and response levels from support staff I can’t say I’m favoring spreets at this point in time.

It’s coming up to the second week since I have requested a refund and all I ask is a appropriate response from the team that relates to what I’m asking

The least they can tell me is the status of my refund!

So far my experience with Spreets has not been good. I purchased Voucher 103 Zgy3JwjMZo on the 26th February for the O Bar and Grill. I then made numerous efforts to book our meal for two, each time failing to connect with the restaurant. I finally made an internet search on O Bar and Grill, only to discover that they had actually gone out of business. So all my time attempting to contact them had been wasted.
In the circumstances, I wanted a refund, as I had been sold vouchers valid until May 2011 for meals in a restaurant that no longer existed. I emailed Spreets customer service on 26th February and received Request No. #27671 saying that Hannah was onto it. And that has been the end of that. Very slow customer service, if in fact any customer service is actually happening. Spreets were quick enough to take my money for the deal. All they have to do now is refund the $29 I paid. How hard is that? And an apology would now be in order. After that, they were representing the company as being in business, which it is not. And they pride themselves on not taking days to deal with issues that arise. And having sold vouchers in a company that no longer existed, it would have been good public relations to have emailed out to all their purchasers that the company was no longer in business and here’s your money back. But I had to discover for myself after quite a lot of wasted time that that was the case.

Reply

Joseph Tang March 28, 2011 at 11:11 pm

Cheryll Grier, my experience is the same as yours. I bought 2 vouchers to the O Bar and Grill and made a booking 3 weeks in advance. We found out on the day that the restaurant had gone out of business. I emailed Spreets about this on 21/3/11 (ticket #26571) and still have not received any reply. Do you know if there are people who are grouping together to take legal action?

Hi Joseph,
I’m not thinking of taking legal action at this stage. And I probably wouldn’t over $29. I do have a friend who is waiting to see if I get a refund before she goes to the effort of applying for a refund herself.
Spreets are selling vouchers for companies like SeaWorld, so I’m hoping they care enough about their reputation to sort out these issues for us. Perhaps I am being naive, Joseph.

Hi Mark,

From previous reading of the forum on Spreets web site you will never get an answer via phone as it is always an answering machine and turning up at the location will not assist either as I believe there is no way into their offices as they do not have a customer service desk or similar – not that I will be driving there from Melbourne to get a response. Surely the beauty of email is that you can send a response quickly. Unfortunately with email people do expect a much quicker turn around than they did in the past. The biggest issue for me is that they try to say they value customer service – this is from their facebook page:

We pride ourselves on great customer service. We know what it’s like to wait on hold and not speak to a real person. If you email us, a real human being will respond!

-and this is from their web site:

Customer service? You bet. Like you, we’re over endless ‘on-hold-a-thons’ and email support that takes days. If you contact us, we’ll do what we can as fast as we can. If we can’t, we’ll let you know and why.

They like to pay lip service to customer service but a quick search of the internet and their forum proves they are falling well short of their customer service promises. If 6 months is as fast as they can then they really need to think about hiring some more staff to respond to issues. More importantly if they have that many complaints it takes 6 months to trawl through the responses then they have some serious issues with their deals offered.

Spreets start taking notice of all the complaints and do something about it. If it helps I would be willing to answer some of your emails of an evening for the basic questions so you can deal with the more difficult issues like refunds. $40 mil is a lot of money to recoup and if you keep going the way you are going the other 20 sites offering the deals will be the ones reap the benefits whilst Spreets goes the way of the dinosaurs.

Hey Lisa
Not sure why link didn’t work but in summary Spreets have a number of document lodged with ASIC on 18 Feb this year mostly ‘change to company details’, now that may be, and probably is totally innocent but just be aware. I haven’t used Spreets since I had the voucher issues, but if the right deal came up, I would consider using them again but I wouldn’t be spending any more than I can afford to loose!

Reply

Lisa April 1, 2011 at 12:44 pm

Thanks for the info Paul. Given Yahoo7 announced it would purchase Spreets for $40 Million sometime in late January this is most likely why all the documents were lodged around the middle of Feb. They have again locked me out of the forum but they have sent me a generic email that says they had some technical glitches with their crediting system – funnily enough a very similar email to what they sent me last August. I think they may need to find some new technical staff. I will supposedly have my credit in 5 days ……waiting with baited breath….lol. Thank you for taking the time to explain the link :)

guess what 7 days have passed and still no credit. Looks like it might be another 3 to 6 month marathon – but I am nothing if not persistent. I did send another support request regarding this and at least got a response in less than 6 hours – pretty good really. Now just waiting for some action rather than an endless stream of emails that promises me everything is sorted.

Hi Joseph Tang,

Reply

Lisa April 1, 2011 at 12:55 pm

Glad you both got your money back and everything is resolved. I think they need more staff at Spreets to keep up with the demand. Just a quick calculation. Spreets are running a competition as they are about to sell their 500,000 th coupon. When Yahoo purchased Spreets they had sold around 250,000 vouchers. Assuming an average price of $44 per deal (between $29 and $59 on average) with a cut to spreets of around 30% (reasonably common for these sites) Spreets are making approx. $13.20 per deal. Multiply that by the 250,000 sold since Yahoo purchased them near the end of January and that equates to $3,330,000 dollars for Spreets (Yahoo7) in approx. 2 months. Again assuming the same sales numbers (which should be conservative given they have sold as many in 2 months as the previous 12) that is $19,800,000 in a 12 month period.
*My point – they should be able to afford more customer service staff to ensure a quicker turnaround on these issues. We should not have to beg for our refunds or referral credits. They should respond to their support emails in a timely fashion. They have deals that last 24 hours so how are we expected to ask questions about a deal when the quickest response I have ever received from them is 4 to 5 days?

Fay April 4, 2011 at 6:50 am

I have made several purchases from Spreets and those that I have used have been great. I have a problem with one of my purchases. Money has been taken out of my account for this, however, I RECEIVED NO VOUCHER. This offer is close to expiring but I have no way of using it without the voucher. A quick solution could be sought if I could actually speak directly with someone from Spreets. Why does a company that claims to be of high standard and integrity make themselves unavailable by phone? No hint of a phone number anywhere. Snail mail address only…..from an online business??? Does that make sense to anybody ????
Judging from other comments here, I learn your customer response is very slow. This does not help my situation. Again a phone number could solve my problem quite simply and quickly.
I have referred several friends to Spreets but I am now concerned they may not thank me for that if this is any indication of the type of service they will receive. Other online special sites manage to offer better customer service, why can’t Spreets?
I would be most grateful if someone could contact within 24hrs to resolve my issue. before the voucher expires.

Hi again Tom,

Still waiting for a reply to an email I send earlier today. Time is getting very short now to be able to use this voucher. I’d hate to have spent the money and lose it! Lisa has suggested I ask if you could perhpas refund the money paid for that voucher or ask the service provider to provide a new expiry date. I think either of those options would be fair.

I wait your early reply.

Thanks.

Hi Tom,

Thank you for answering my message . I can’t quote the ticket number issued because there was no ticket/voucher issued – this is the problem !!

I tried checking my account but I have no vouchers listed there at all, which is very strange since I have made at least 11 purchases. I have hard copies of vouchers for all the other purchases but not for the one in question. Why don’t the others show up in my account either?

The purchase in question is for a Blueberry Smoothy Facial, Argan Oil Hair Treatment and Relaxation Scalp Massage at Mills Street Advanced Skin & Beauty Clinic. I paid $39.00 for this voucher (this amount has been deducted from my account) Voucher valid 7/1/11 – 7/4/11. As you can see this offer is due to expire 7th April but I have no voucher for claiming my purchased offer.

What can you suggest to rectify this gaffe?

Thanks
Fay

Faye I think the ticket number Tom refers to is the one they will issue you with when you lodge a support request not the vouher number. I suggest you request a refund or ask then to grt the company to extend the expiry as you will be lucky to get to use it in 24 hours

Fay April 6, 2011 at 6:49 am

I have finally received something from Spreets regarding my problem – only it’s too late! It would appear they were able to find the voucher after all, and have resent it. Why could this not have be done immediately while I still had time to claim my purchase? If I could have made direct contact with Spreets when I realised I wasn’t sent a voucher, instead of this long winded way of communciating with a 24 hour time lag each way, I could have resolved this quickly and still have had time to use it.
This has been a waste of money and a disappointment in the service offered by Spreets. I have made several purchases through Spreets, but if this is the standard of customer service Spreets is prepared to offer I am very wary about making future purchases through them or recommending their site to any more of my friends.
Thank you Lisa for your support and advice. I am most disappointed that they didn’t offer me a refund or an offer to extend the expiry date.

Hi Tom,

Below is an email I received on the 1st of April 2011 claiming my issue had been solved. I gave spreets the benefit of the doubt but not suprisingly to me they have not followed up on their promises. I would really appreciate my issue being resolved in the next 24 hours as my initial request was sent on the 28th of March and this really is getting ridiculous. I have now submitted another request ticket #36861 to get this fixed. My friends recently purchased a gift voucher for my birthday from Cudo so your poor customer service is definitely costing you money and helping the competition.

Your request (#29850) has been deemed solved.

Lisa April 12, 2011 at 3:17 am

Hi Fay,

I am glad they finally resolved your issue and gave you a refund. I find if you fight hard enough and send enough messages the resolution is adequate but how much better would it be if they just dealt with the issues swiftly. I am sure you would have preferred to have your deal but at least you aren’t out of pocket. Seriously my best experience so far has been with http://www.deals.com.au but http://www.cudo.com.au have been pretty good too. I had a friend sign up and purchase with Cudo and did not get my credit from them, complained on the same day and the issue has been long resolved. They were a little smarmy about it but they fixed the problem the day after I provided my friends email. The only saving grace for Spreets at the moment is that they do have great deals. I used a fantastic voucher for my birthday that I had purchased through them ( I think I have purchased about 15 so far). The good deals will only take them so far though – eventually I will get Jack of their crap customer service and go elsewhere. They seriously need to consider hiring more staff to answer their customer queries/issues. Good luck with your future purchases!

Hi Tom,

Thank you to you and your team for resolving this matter for me and issuing a refund. It’s reassuring to know there is a course of redress for any problems with purchases made through Spreets. I look forward to more great offers to purchase in the future!

I had a technical glitch where I somehow purchased 3 vouchers 20 times over.
It happened last night. I kept getting “no network” messages from my computer and ” we are working on the problem, come back later” message from the Spreets site. A conspiracy of glitches has seen my credit card charged over $2400 , nearly maxing it out. I have submitted a request for assistance ( ticket 35931) but I can’t afford to wait too long because I live on my credit card and won’t be able to buy food or fuel. No fault of Spreets of course but a rapid resolution before my husband finds out and says “I told you so” (he thinks these sites are a scam). Hoping for a quick refund. Please help.
Thanks, Alenka

Thought i would let others know that Spreets is into false advertising.
stay away from them.

got a voucher to get car servicing which i paid $99 for and was meant to get range of free services. However spreets did not put the correct terms and conditions on the website and when i went to book my car in, they told me i would have to pay other costs.
But spreets states there services are free.
i asked for a refund and they wont give it to me.
i am going to my bank to reverse the charge and going to fair trading.
i can see from all the complaints, they rip people off. stay away from them.

Not sure which deal you are referring to not happy but I did remember seeing one where you had to pay for the oils and other fluids. I hope you get your money back. If they advertised something that is not being provided you can go to consumer affairs in your state and lodge a complaint. Good luck.

crazy isn’t it. One thing that might make it faster is if you provide them with the support request ticket number. Just add another support request if you can’t find it as they have incorrectly marked the issue as resolved. The support request ticket number is the one received when you log a request on their support site:
http://spreets.zendesk.com/requests/new
Don’t use the voucher number which it looks like the above number is.

It sucks when businesses close down and you have money invested in a voucher. This could be a great scam – register a business, do a Spreets deal for a service you are never going to offer, go “Bankrupt” and close the business then disappear into the night and leave Spreets handling the disgruntled customers :) Boy do I have an offer for you guys -Lisa’s massage is offering 3 x 1 hour massages for only $50 – valued at $300 – but you will never get to use it as I am going out of business tomorrow – deal capped at the first 1000 purchases – ka ching ka ching raking it in :)

Reply

Lisa April 16, 2011 at 6:14 am

Nicole the best thing you can do is lodge a support request and then wait…….and wait……and wait…….and wait some more. The easiest thing you can do to get your voucher is sign up for a Spreets account (which is free) using the email address you used to purchase your deal. You can then log into that account and there will be a list of your purchases. You can then download your deal voucher as a pdf for printing. Of course the other thing you can do is warn everyone via the internet and social media. I have used some deals successfully and the businesses that offered them were fantastic. Spreets does not offer good customer service so if something goes wrong don’t expect a fast resolution.

It is now 21 days, several emails from multiple staff, 2 support requests later and still my issue is not resolved. Another email today telling me the support request was deemed solved on the 15th of April and yet no response telling me they had “resolved it” and still not sorted. I really would hate to think how long these things would take if the did not “pride themselves on customer service” and if they weren’t “over endless on hold marathons and email support that take days”. I think I would personally prefer the email support that takes days as opposed to the months you get with Spreets. I have sent two more emails and will see how that goes before I start my Facebook and Twitter anti Spreets campaign.

Lisa April 19, 2011 at 8:40 am

Just a quick update. I received an email from 2 staff from Spreets today informing me that the credit was finally in my account. Appropriate resolution but the time taken was not good customer service. I had an issue with a deal from deals.com.au where the company was not answering the phone. I sent an email this morning at 11:10am and had a response and a refund by 3:24pm the same day. This is why I make a big deal about Deals.com.au’s customer service. It is customer service the way it should be done!

Yeah, I found this with Spreets and also Jumponit. When these sites started to get popular that was one thing they used to suck people in. But what was the number one topic on the forums of these sites? Referral Credit doesn’t work of course! Funny though, seems that Spreets wins the prize for the most unhappy customers.

Reply

Lisa April 27, 2011 at 7:16 pm

Hi Irwin,

I have been told by the customer service from Spreets that the automatic system for referral credits does not work. Your best bet is to send them a support request with the friend you referred’s email and the deal your friend subsequently purchased. If you don’t get a response keep following it up. They do eventually give you your credit but it does take a lot of work to get them do add the credit to your account. The good thing is when the vouchers are good and work they are fantastic :)

Tom (Spreets) April 27, 2011 at 11:27 pm

HI Vic,

The Voucher # and unique code are not usually what Spreets require. They like you to do a support request on their site http://spreets.zendesk.com/anonymous_requests/new
and then provide them with the support request number. In the support request tell them what city the deal is for, what the deal was and the email you used to purchase it and they can usually track it for you. It does often take some time but credit where credit is due they do eventually fix the issues.

My daughter & I bought spreets vouchers in December for 3 hours of treatments at a Brisbane beauty salon. we received our vouchers, but after 4 attempts have had our appointments cancelled again – this time because the salon claims they are in legal disput with spreets for selling 2500 vouchers instead of the agreed 500 vouchers.
How do I get our money back from Spreets?

Reply

Lisa May 6, 2011 at 6:14 am

I would suggest you send them a support request through their website detailing that you have attempted several times to use the voucher but have been unable to obtain a booking. I would also include the information regarding the fact they state they are in legal dispute with Spreets. http://spreets.zendesk.com/anonymous_requests/new
this link should take you to the right place – if not look at the above comments and Tom from Spreets has put the link for support in several locations.

Once you have got a support request number from the Spreets website wait for 24 hours for a response (exclude the weekend) and then post your support request number on here saying you would like a refund. Spreets will often do the right thing by the customer it just tends to take a very, very long time and patience and persistence from the customer.

Lisa May 12, 2011 at 7:27 am

this is the response I received “Your request (#48587) has been deemed solved.”
In my opinion it is far from solved – because I don’t have my money. I don’t want a Spreets credit voucher – I want to be refunded.
I sent a reply to the above response asking for a refund, but have not received anything so far.
What should I do next?

they should refund to your credit card if they are unable to offer the service they promised. Laws protect consumers from being ripped off but they may be different in your state. I would say you want a refund as you are not prepared to wait for them to sort out legal issues with the provider. Spreets have some responsibility in regards to advertising – it can not be misleading. If they sold 2500 of something they only had permission to sell 500 of then they have mislead 2000 people. I would personally be happy with a credit. Good luck!

My problem is I have paid for this voucher for hair services (voucher expires in September 2011) and now trying to use it but the business is uncontactable with a message to check my number and try again.
This is not the first time this has happened to me. The previous time the business closed (in the city) I turned up for my appointment to an empty shop. I was lucky that there was another branch in the Gold Coast which was very inconvenient for me to get to.
I have emailed the support address but at this stage, no response beside the standard ‘thank you I have received your email and will get back to you as soon as possible’

And I am still waiting.

So how do I get a refund back from spreets re this voucher?
The company is Girl Friday’s Makeover Lounge in Milton, QLD

Hi Sisze,

I have had to contact Spreets on several occassions. It is best not to put your unique ID and voucher number up as anyone can redeem a voucher with those items on and you can create your own. Your first port of call is to send a request for support to Spreets via their support link on the website. http://spreets.zendesk.com/anonymous_requests/new this is basically the location of the support. Once you have submitted a report you will get a support request number which is what you should use when following up with Spreets. I keep my first auto response email so that I can keep clicking on the same request and re opening it as they like to mark things as resolved when they are not. Depending on the state you are in the required by law will change but Spreets have given me a credit for their site when I couldn’t contact a business. It took me some time to get contact from Spreets but I am persistent. Below is directly from their terms and conditions. Good luck!!

9. REFUNDS: Except as required by law, a User is not entitled to a refund if the User simply changes their mind or makes a wrong decision. A User receives their voucher via email at midnight if the Deal they have purchased reaches its minimum number of buyers. If a User has any problems using their voucher at a business, they can contact support@spreets.com.

Reply

Lisa May 13, 2011 at 4:58 am

I have requested a refund too, but no reply from Spreets! Have you tried reporting it to your credit card provider? If your purchase was not long ago, maybe you can get a refund through them? That is my next plan.

They finally gave me an appointment this morning at 10am, it is now 1:30pm and I’m still waiting – cannot contact them – no answer and their website is down!!!! I just want my money refunded.
Surely Team Spreets can offer some kind of support when the companies they deal with don’t come up with the goods!

I got the voucher no problem, since then i have phoned to book and guess what, the restaraunt is closed down and the phone disconnected. I have contacted Spreets 3 times in respect of “What now?”. No-one responds except for the automated email with a reference number on and no-one seems to give a toss about replying. I have now emailed Tom at Spreets from the info in previous threads, so hopefully he will contact me with an answer and hopefully a refund. I buy from Cudo all the time and have never had this experience. What a rip off.

Then in Jan tried to make a booking again, the closest i could get was 10/05/2011 (7ths months after purchase!!!!). At 3.15 the day before the appointment i recieved a message on my answer machine that said they were sick and would have to cancel and that they would call back to rescedule. I tried to call back half an hour later and only got an answering machine. And have not been able to get in contact with them since!!! They have had my money for 7mths!!!!
I emailed Spreets suport 5 days ago and have not heard a thing.
My ticket number is #50911

I would never use them again and tell all my friends to stay away!!!!!!!

I am still waiting for a response from Spreets regarding a refund. I received an automated response with the ticket number, but since then NOTHING! So peeved about this. What else can anyone do? Has anyone considered contacting A Current Affair or something like that?

I left several emails for a refund due to the voucher i had purchased, the venue had closed down. No response. I read this thread on this website, posted my complaint on Monday 16th May, emailed Tom direct as well (got his info from somewhere up above on one of the posts) and Spreets contacted me the next day and have refunded my money yesterday 19th May. I am pleased obviously that they are responding – albeit – slowly, but i was lucky in this instance.
Good luck everyone.

lol Dianne for Spreets 3 days is not slow in fact that is a massive improvement. Good to hear you had everything resolved though. I am not convinced their electronic system works. It was most likely the direct email to Tom that did it. Spreets need new IT people.

I have been trying to log on to my account on Spreets website and keep being denied access because “there is no account with this email address on our records!!!!” What??? I have purchased several vouchers which I want to print out so I can use, however, now not able to enter the site – what is going on Spreets? Also, the voucher I purchased for Diamond Cleaning ($45 which has been deducted from my account by the way), is not being recognised. No matter that I contacted these people many times with promises being made to honour the deal, but now their phone number has been disconnected. Why deal with dodgy companies in the first place. Not happy at all. Thank goodness no further money has been paid out for companies that have either gone bust or are no longer operating. Good luck to everyone else out there who have been fleeced – my advice – unsubscribe immediately!

Hi JHP,

You need to ensure that you have created an initial account at the link http://www.spreets.com.au/user/signup . Once this is done you can view, download and print all your vouchers. We hope this helps. Regarding your Diamond Cleaning experience please email support@spreets.com so that the Support Team can assist you with this.

This was the worst experience ever. I am only going to use Cudo and Scoopon from now on as I have used these in the past and they work. The money was taken from my credit card immediately yet no voucher was emailed through. I have emailed persistently (ticket #57265, #57832.. ect.. ect) with no avail. Honestly Yahoo needs to get rid of this joker company or seriously overhaul it because this experience has left a foul taste in my mouth and I will rethink ANYTHING to do with either company in the future.

My suggestion is you UNSUBSCRIBE AND NEVER BUY FROM SPREETS EVER!!!! Also I think the glowing report on this website should also be taken down especially since most of the comments are so very negative.

To all the people out there never ever buy from spreets again its not worth it, you just have to see all the complaints. Be persistant and dont give up. I just hope that the hairdresser hasnt closed shop when I ring them to make an appointment. (fingers crossed) It seems that most of these deals are as shonky as Spreet. I have only just submitted a complaint about a deal that keeps restarting after the deal period finishes. I was the 187th customer with 14hours left on the clock and they needed 190bought..after restarting itself there is no longer a clock therefore no deal period plus it has now reached up to 270 bought and is still open for purchase. I expected the deal to end this morning, when should I expect to see vouchers, if at all?
I came across this site after I had not received response after a previous enquiry I had made. I read that a few people didn’t have their issues resolved after months so I am hoping by posting here early that I will get prompt response from their team. I have bought before from them and there were no problems then but it was for a much cheaper deal. I paid quite a bit for this one therefore I don’t want any mishaps. My complaint number is 59441. I will email it to the support team too.

I too like so many others have been trying to get a response from Spreets with no luck. They have taken the money from my credit card but no vouchers have been forwarded, no payment confirmation and considering you have to submit a postal address nothing has been sent to that either. I will never use or recomend Spreets to anyone. I have just sent an internal email within our company to warn people about using Spreets. It should hit about 1,700 people so I feel I have got my moneys worth here.

To Team Spreets
I have submitted an online request (#61903) and am still waiting for a response from a human rather than the automated response.

I bought a voucher for O Bar and Grill, as did many others it appears, to only find that they have closed.

I have submitted a request and also emailed Tom privately however am still to get a reply. As the voucher expires in less than a month I would obviously like to have the money either refunded or added as credit to my account.

I can see that a few other people have had a favourable response for this exact same problem (O Bar and Grill) by posting a comment on this site.

I have to say I’m disappointed with the lack of communication as I would’ve immediately used the credit from this offer on the offer for Absynthe on the Gold Coast. I am now beginning to think it would be best to get a complete refund rather than a credit due to the lack of interest in the customer from Spreets.

I have purchased quite a few other vouchers via other offers, Scoopon x 3, Deal Me x 8, Jump on It x 2 and Cudo x1 and have not had a single problem with any of them. Unfortunately the first and only one I have purchased with Spreets is proving to be ridiculously hard.

So please someone from Spreets, can you attend to my Request number, #61903, as it is already considerably past the 1 or 2 business days your automated response says it will take for you to deal with.

Thankyou

Debbie

Debbie I have had the same issues as you. They take sooooooooooo long to answer anyone. I use approximately 20 other sites with http://www.deals.com.au being my favourite for referral credits, customer service and deals…..guess what they even have a telephone number. Every issue I have had with Spreets has been resolved to my satisfaction (although I am not sure I have received all my friend referral credit as you have to personally know your friend bought a deal to get them to add it manually) but after a long, long, long, long, long time

Reply

Debbie Phillips June 8, 2011 at 2:48 am

Hey Lisa
I think the disappointing thing is that I thought I’d give them the benefit of the doubt by submitting my problem ‘privately’ as it were via their request desk and when I hadn’t been responded to I gave them further benefit of the doubt by personally emailing ‘Tom’. Unfortunately I was naive in assuming that that path would see my request being actioned.

Clearly requests are only actioned when publicly aired. Quite a bizarre way to run a business given how word of mouth can make or break a business.

Here’s hoping now for a ‘prompt!?!’ reply.

Debbie, take my advice, if you haven’t had the chance to take up the Absynthe deal then its a blessing! Too many negatives to mention, just google them and you’ll find some informative reviews on various restaurant rating sites.
And for Spreets, why do any of these people need to ask for a refund for a voucher whose business has closed down? It should be automatic refund with a follow up email. O bar and Grill (back in March sometime), diamond cleaning now too apparently. Seriously this is a customer service no brainer.

Sofia June 8, 2011 at 6:02 am

Hi All,

Just an update on my “wonderful” experience with Spreets. They were quick enough to answer my email and send out the voucher – and I thought “hmm… why is everybody complaining about these people?” but here is what happened next:

I booked the “horse ride & lunch” experience as Malabar using the phone number on the voucher. It was confirmed twice. My parents then went on the booked date (it was my mother’s birthday and this was a gift for her) only to be told that the stables operator had no idea about the whole business.
Apparently, although Spreets make it look like the deal is coming from the stables, it is in fact some dodgy third-party operator whose number is given on voucher. She then arranges to borrow the horses from the stables and book the restaurant for. No information for her exists anywhere besides that phone number and she will not reveal the company (if any) that she is representing.

When confronted about why the booking was not made she tried to lie her way out of it and intimidate my mother by saying that she had every right to keep our money without providing the service.

She wouldn’t take my calls until I called from a private number, then gave an excuse about “miscommunication” and when I confronted her about not calling me and advising that the booking would not go ahead she said that she did not have my number.

She finally agreed that she will give me a refund and was about to hang up, when I enquired as to how she could possibly do that without knowing who I am, as she never even asked my for name or contact details. She the said it is not a problem because (ready?) SHE HAS MY NUMBER – remember that at the time I was calling from a private number.

Naturally, I almost laughed at this and reminded her that apparently the reason she could not warn about the non-existent booking was because she claimed not to have my number. She then got all defensive and said that she will not take this “abuse” from me and my family (nobody ever so much as raised their voice at this person) and hang up on me.

Very interested to see how Spreets handle my complaint about this one. Luckily I work just down the street from their office, so might just pop in and see what they have to say about it (if there is anybody actually there, since their phone number for that office has been disconnected).

Hi I’m presuming that Diamond Cleaning Company has closed down and I have 6 vouchers that have not been honoured. They were supposed to come and clean today and so far no show. I will be seeking a full refund of $300 approx from Spreets. I have contacted them via their support page. Hopefully I will get my money back. Is anyone else trying to get a refund for Diamond Cleaning and Spreets also would desperately like to hear of success stories. Long weekend and a house to clean and $300 out of pocket. To say I’m not happy would be an understatement!

Still haven’t received a refund – not sure who refunds the money anyway – obviously not Diamond CC. I wonder if anyone else has thought to take these complaints further – ACA or similar? Considering the 100′s of people who are out of pocket due to defunct or closed down businesses.

Also – NOT HAPPY

I have come onto this publicly as I am now at a loss as what to do.

On June 14th I purchesed a voucher for the DONALD TRUMP, ANTHONY ROBBINS, ROBERT KIYOSAKI – Empowernet experience. I was directed to a web site where I had to go through the steps of verifying my account which I completed successfully – well – according to the prompts I did. As you will see from the details below, the voucher I received from Spreets was only confirmation of my purchase, I was to be sent tickets for the event. So far no tickets have been received. When I originally emailed Spreets Support I received a computer generated response stating Your request (#76172) has been deemed solved and to contact Ticket Master. So I contacted Ticket Master who looked into the matter from their end and found they had received no details that I had ever purchased or was eligible for any tickets at all. They spent quite a bit of time trying to get to the bottom of it for me to no avail. In the end they advised that the issue was from the Spreets end of things and to contact them again.
I then wrote back to Spreets and gave them these details to only get the same computer generated response deeming the problem solved.
I emailed them again yesterday and gave them 24 hours for a real person to get back to me otherwise I would go public….so here I am.

I feel I have lost any chance of getting the tickets which is very dissappointing so all I want now is my $295.00 refunded to my account….if someone would take an interest in this I would be most grateful. I really am reluctant to take it to Consumer Affairs or the Ombudsman but will do so if necessary.

I am a little disappointed too that it took me getting onto this website before I got any action. However all has been resolvedand for that I thank you and you havc restored my trust in Spreets. Hi Glenn,

No worries.

I can assure you that our team had resent the vouchers before I even saw your post here. However, the system automatically captures the address and when the team resends the voucher it goes to the email used to purchase. It takes time to get into the back end and see why you don’t receive it despite multiple attempts.

Once again, sorry that you have had to wait and we hope you have a lovely experience.

I’m so very disappointed at the support team at spreets I have created three different case numbers out of frustration hoping to get a response to at least one!!! (#76581) (#74799) (#72221)

Thanks for the quick reply. I took your advice, I left one case number (#72221) as I got rid of the others by marking them resolved, hope that helps the situation to be resolved quicker.

Thanks again for the quick reply, hoepfully this can be solved as soon as possible.

Hello Alexandra
I have made a number of requests to track my voucher as they are rather expensive and I bought 2 and need to book as soon as possible . My Ticket is #82535: Acknowledgement of purchase apart from voucher . I have yet to receive my vouchers despite waiting the requested 48 hours, the deal is on and 136 were sold. I also did not receive any acknowledgement that I had actually bought the deal – is this usual.
Could someone get back to me please
regards

I purchased 2 cupons for Buff n Stuff at Bulimba. My friend and I booked an appointment for 11.30am Thursday 14 July 2011. We arrived to find the place had closed down. I immediately emailed Spreets that day to request a refund. Had no reply by Wed 20 July, so sent another email. Still haven’t heard a word from Spreets! By reading the above complaints, it seems to be a common problem when dealing with Spreets! I am not a happy camper and, am hoping that ‘Tom’ might be able to help me also. Thanks in anticipation…

Just want to say that Jackie from Spreets got back to me by email and, within 3 days my refund had been credited to my account. Thank you Jackie. I do hope though that Spreets eventually make it clearer to people how to contact them for a refund so that they don’t have to go through all the hassle that they seem to have to go through now to get it! Would certainly prevent the need for all the complaints that are being seen on this website!

I purchased 2 vouchers for the Zensara Day Spa, paid $399 for each. I have not been able to get in contact with the Spa to make an appointment, they have not returned any of my phone calls for close to a month now. I am disgusted at this, and have been asking Spreets for a refund repeatedly and keep getting the same response of “businesses are busier than usual once they do a deal with Spreets, keep trying”.
I’m sorry, but no business on this planet is that busy that they cannot answer their phone for a month straight.
I feel cheated and want my money back. If I don’t receive my refund in the next week, I’ll be contacting the Dept of Fair Trading.
I’ve tried contacting Spreets so many times, and have either received no reply, or the stock standard one above.
I really want my money back, as I am feeling really duped and do not wish to deal with either Spreets or Zensara Day Spa any longer.

Zensara didn’t call me back too. But I left a message on spreet facebook and sent a twitter message to @spreets and their tram called Artie and he called me back within 24hours of my message i think it is best to do that instead of writing here and I have my appoitment scheduled already for Tuesaday and I will keep you posted how it goes

Anyone from SPREETS, could you please get back to me ASAP?

I emailed spreets.com.au several times, have been waiting for a reply for a week, but no luck. Request # 91634.

I have an issue with a merchant from whom I bought a voucher.

When I bought the voucher I called to make an appointment only
to find out that the owner would not accept bookings on Saturdays (that
was not mentioned in the voucher), so he said he would give me a refund
if I could not make it on other days.
So I made a booking but was told just the same morning of the booking
that my booking was cancelled. So we rescheduled it for another day, and
I actually arrived at location in Crown Nest only to find out that my
booking was delayed, and was never informed of this. Having other
appointments on in the afternoon I could not use my booking on that day
either. They were actually aware in the morning that the delay was going
to happen, but the owner never called me to let me know. I have another
friend who has bought this deal, and the same happened to her. Our
bookings keep on getting cancelled or delayed, and the service is very
bad.

The owner agreed to refund me the money for the voucher and said to wait
until Tuesday 2nd August to see the refund, but no refund has been done
as yet.

Could you kindly process this for me ASAP as I am going overseas mid
August and would like this resolved as soon as possible?

Thank you.

Hi again Ash,

Could you please have Spreets process my refund ASAP? Like I said I need to have this finalized before I leave to go overseas, and the owner has promised me a refund, but he’s not kept his word so far…
Please have someone from Spreets contact me back ASAP and have the refund processed, thank you very much.

Ash, or anyone else from Spreets, sorry to be so persistent, but I need someone to get back to me today and let me know that the refund is going ahead. If the owner doesn’t give me a refund as he confirmed and promised, I might have to contact Fair Trading. I am leaving to go overseas and since refund takes 5-7 business days, that cuts it too close to my departure date, and will only make it in time if done by today or tomorrow.
Thank you,

Has anyone else purchased a Spreets voucher for the villas in Bali? It’s been over 4 weeks of phone calls and emails requesting an available date. I gave them dates I would like to go – at that stage the date was 6 weeks in advance. I gave them the option to give me the first date available after if these dates were unavailable. Phone calls get answered with, “We will call back.” – nothing….or we will email (got one back asking for the voucher which I said I’d send when dates were confirmed but sent it as requested anyway). With all the talk of vouchers not being redeemed and it being a scam, I’m worried. I have sent two emails to ‘support’ at Spreets (last one just today) so won’t put Spreets down just yet. Would just like reassurance I will be going, my money won’t be lost and a date so I can book planes and rearrange my long service leave,…. please.

I have kept all my emails and am sending the lot to consumer affairs.

To anyone at Spreets
I purchased a Pamper Package for Mirror Beauty in New Farm late last year and have been looking forward to using this all year towards the end of my pregnancy.
On contacting Mirror Beauty to make a booking however, I am advised that they will not honor the voucher and that I need to contact you with regards to a refund.
I have submitted a refund request through your requested method of email two weeks ago and I am still to receive any sort or response from you other than the ticket number (#100912) and an email saying that my request was received and that you aim to respond within 1-2 business days….. (still waiting).
I must say how disappointed I am with the service from both the company and yourselves at this point. I have been in contact with the company on several occasions this year and each time they tell me a different thing. First it was all fine, next they said that they would not offer me the services on the voucher but I could choose from 3 other services, then when I tried to book one of these alternatives they tell me that they will not provide me with anything and to take it up with you. Then I hear nothing in response to my request through your support team….
I would appreciate a response from yourselves asap.

Yay, i have finally received a response from Spreets just now, advising that the refund has been processed. Thanks!
Obviously, I don’t know what is happening of Spreets end, but I would suggest if you are going to send an email when requests are received saying that you aim to respond with 1-2 business days, a follow up email to advise the customer of the progress of their request a few days later or advise on the delay would possibly help with customers frustrations and maybe stop some of the repetative emails that you must be getting? just a suggestion.

Looks like I am one in a long list of unhappy spreets users. I purchased 2 vouchers for $598 for 2 nights at Radisson Gold Coast in order to spoil my parents visiting us next week. Deal closed on 25th August and my credit card was charged. Bookings could be made from 30th August and guess what no vouchers yet! When I checked with Wowstayz the reservation agent, the nights I want are now no longer available as everyone else has been making their bookings and redeeming there vouchers. When I raised a request on spreets website, they said the deal was still running!!!! So why has my card been charged, what utter nonsense…yesterday I requested a voucher by close of business or refund. No response…I think its time to go to A Current Affair or consumer council. Soo much for caring about customer experience…consumer beware, these guys hide behind an email account!!!!

I purchased two hotel deals for Bali at a total cost of $1118 for ten nights. I checked that the accomodation was available via another site prior to paying my money, I had already booked my flights so could only go on specific dates.
It took more than five days for the booking agent to get back to me and tell me that these dates were not available and to please send them alternative dates, this was despite them still taking bookings on other sites such as Wotif and Hotels.com. for a good part of the dates I had specified. I responded and asked them to tell me which dates were actually available and they haven’t replied at all, nothing. Spreets support have done much the same. I requested a refund of my money and didn’t even warrant a reply. This has severely blown my holiday budget as I’ve had no alternative but to book other accomodation as I’m leaving in two weeks.

I recently paid for a remote control helicopter, I recieved my voucher and an email stating the Spreets had negleted to collect my delivery details and to contact Dbirect with the required information. I emailed Bdirect who told me to contact Spreets. Then i emailed Spreets how told me to contact Bdirect and that my enquiry was now closed. Round and round we go. A mate also tried to purchase the same item, money was taken no voucher. Ironic that they highlight customer services as a company attribute.

Just $139) A whole day at work to afford that and there is no voucher to be seen. This is meant to be a birthday present for my dad. I’ve emailed Spreets and no response. Great tactic not providing customers with a phone number. Not recommending Spreets to anyone because there is just no guarantee you get what you paid for!

Hi. Like some other people on this site, I unfortunately purchased a Spreets voucher for Girl Fridays Makeover Lounge in Milton for my friend’s birthday in April 2011. It was valid for 12 months. I only recently found out that Girl Fridays have gone out of business when my friend advised me that she’s been trying to contact them for the last 2 weeks and Telstra told her the number has been disconnected. Then I found the discussions here. I contacted Spreets on 30 Nov 11 and received an automated response. I contacted them again on 5 Dec to follow up. Still haven’t heard from anyone personally. It’s now been a week since I raised my complaint. I’m disappointed in Spreets service and I’m disappointed and embarrassed that the birthday I bought for my friend has ended up being completely useless.

We’ve recently had another bad experience with a daily voucher company where the business wouldn’t honour the voucher. They were booked up and couldn’t cope with the volume of vouchers in the time period. This is putting me off the whole daily voucher concept. I’ll stop wasting my money – vouchers are turning out to be a false economy. But mainly, I want to hear from Spreets and I want to get my money back.

After 9 weeks and numerous calls and emails Spreets have finally come back with the fact that the ‘special’ was through another online specials company (grab bargains) and they consider any request for refund has to go through them.

I have sent a letter of compliant. This has to be done prior to a complant to the office of fair trading. I will also email ACA etc. and see if they are interested.

Might not be worth my effort but I hate getting ripped off and stuffed around. The Office of Fair Trading Website link is below, they have a sample letter on their site.

I sent a letter of complaint letter yesterday as the Office of Fair Trading required that a letter be sent and 5 days to respond with a reasonable outcome prior to logging a formal complaint. To be honest I have given up on getting a satisfactory response based on the amount of frustrated customers on this site but will pursue out of spite. I am also talking to the bank as there might be an option there for them to recoup the payment as a product wasn’t supplied.

I hope Yahoo know what they got into buying Spreets. The bad reputation it is building must rub off on Yahoo.
Back on the 20th Oct I purchased a GPS Nav from Spreets for $119. When my partner (Defacto) got up I told him what I had done. He said I have already bought one and it was a supprise for our comming aniversary. We contacted Spreets by email approx four hours after the order had been placed explaining the problem and asking them to cancel the order and refund the PayPal debit. after about three weeks a package arrived from Spreets. It was the navigator. I phoned Spreets and was told I had to get the refund from BDirect, Spreets was only an agent. I phoned BDirect a number of times only to get an message bank, I left a message and contact details three times with no result. The last message I got quite agro, it worked I was phoned back only to be told PayPal paid Spreets, not them, my problemas is with Spreets.
After 4 calls to Spreets The first time I spoke to a Sue who said she would sort it, she had all the details on the computer. she suggested I call BDirect and gave me their phone number. see above how that went. after no responce I again phoned this time I did not get the girls name, still no reply, another call to Spreets this time I spoke to a Sandra, she said it would be esculated, another wait no responce, another call Renee this time very sorry about all the problems, tried to contact accounts without sucess, promised she would get in contact with them and phone me back later that day. days later still waiting. I found out that I had been only speaking to a call centre, not Spreets itself. Talk about Dodgy Brothers, I am now taking it to Dept Fair Trading and ACA on TV. This company has to be stopped. Yahoo what have you bought into?
All I want is to return the unpacked goods and get a refund. Why is this so hard?
As a pensioner I cannot afford to lose $119.

I originally contacted support@spreets to find out what was happening about the phone that I paid $125 for on 20/11/2011. After numerous contacts with them and, getting nowhere, I think it has been long enough so now I just want my money refunded. Also even though I contacted them each time by pressing ‘reply’ and leaving the previous conversations at the bottom, I just realised that they kept giving me a new # so I have to wonder if anyone actually does read these emails. This is the latest message I sent:
“I just realised that every time I reply to your emails, you seem to be giving me different tracking numbers. Please note that the following tracking numbers are what you have supplied me with so far:
#153291 2/12/2011
#155170 6/12/2011
#166228 16/12/2011
#167408 21/12/2011
NB. This is the same conversation about the same problem! Not different ones so why am I getting different numbers each time I converse with you, even though I leave the previous conversation we had attached especially to jog your memory? And, why am I getting nowhere with this conversation? The tracking number you finally provided me with (RA362442911CN) is as real as the deal was! It tracks me to nowhere, just tells me it is ‘unavailable’ and my phone wasn’t delivered ‘shortly’ as you promised in your email of the 16/12. It still hasn’t arrived! It really is simple now – you sold me a deal – you got your (my) money – I didn’t get the deal! Please refund my money!”
I hope this will clear it up for them and that they will finally clear the problem up for me!

Sheldon, just to keep you updated, I posted about my troubles and woes on the Facebook page and finally got an answer! To check the tracking number with Australia Post on 137678 (for anyone else that is having the same problem). They informed me that this is an international tracking code, that the products are coming from China! My particular item was not despatched from China until the 8/12 and, that it has to go through their postal system first! It shows that it arrived in Australia on the 20/12 but, has not yet been cleared! So much for 1-2 weeks delivery and wanting it for a Christmas present! But thank goodness for small mercies, at least I know that it does exist after all and I will update when I finally get it! Why could this information not have been provided in the first place though, saving myself and lot’s of others all the time and stress of trying to track it down? Never mind…..ask a silly question and……

Paid for some organic fruit end veggie vouchers, after paying for them and spending ages scouring through the veggie web site, only to find out they do not deliver to our area.

On contacting spreets and giving them all relivent information, it took over 3 weeks for them to reply to us, then back and forward and back and forward go the messages. No fruit and veggie, no refund, nothing. $80.00 down the drain!!! Useless at customer service, very good at taking your money. No money, No fruit and veggie, No service, No care.

this is a very common problem with Spreets. It seems in a year their customer service hasn’t changed a bit. If you complain through here you might get some action but the path to resolution is slow and laborious. Come on Spreets if you don’t lift your game you may not be one of the few of these sites that survives into the long term.

I purchased the helicopter deal back in November. Yes over THREE months ago! Spreets gave me a tracking and lucky me the tracking number doesn’t work. Well it does but it tracks to someone with a completely different name in WA and I’m in QLD. I’ve emailed spreets support and surprise surprise I don’t hear anything back. I called Spreets and they said Aust Post mixed up the tracking numbers and to lodge a refund through Grabargins. I sent my enquiry to them through their website three times but of course I don’t hear back from them either.

I call Spreets again and lodge an investigation through them. They said it was going to take 5-7 working days and that they will contact me then. 7 days are up and haven’t heard back from them (sooo not surprised) so I call them. Mark said there is a note against my investigation saying that I will get a phone call from head office at 5pm QLD time. He said if I have heard from them by 5:15pm to give them a call back and they will chase it up. Of course I didn’t get a phone call so I tried to call back at 5:15pm and guess what… Spreets is closed at 5:30pm AEST which means at 4:30pm QLD time.

I called Spreets back on Monday (today) and asked why I didn’t get a phone call. All they said was you haven’t made any complaints or investigations against your account. WHAT?! They have just been deleting every single one of my enquiries. I don’t know how spreets is still even allowed to operate especially after reading all these reviews just on this one website.

I have contacted my bank and Paypal to try get my money back because spreets obviously doesn’t care about its customers. I’ve also referred this matter to the ACCC and Office of Fair trading in QLD and maybe it wouldn’t hurt to bring this to ACA like others before me. If anyone else has been having trouble with Spreets please lodge a complaint with the ACCC and office of fair trading because then this might just stop happening to others especially if there are plenty of other daily deal websites that value their customers and business.

Hi

I got my helicopter after forwarding a copy of the letter I sent to the Office or Fair Trading, I also sent an email to ACA. I am fairly sure they provide fake tracking numbers. Pretty sure this would be illegal not just bad service. Might be a way to get some attential from the regulator or ACA. The did seem to respond to continue online notes about there rediculously poor service; facebook, twitter etc. but a lot of time as where they can they just delete the comments.

Basically Paypal had contacted Spreets and told them that they should do a refund since I hadn’t received the product I purchased. They also told me that they have a “black mark” against their name and if they continue to receive similar complaints, Paypal probably won’t be dealing with them anymore.

I also made a complaint to Office of Fair Trading. They now have it recorded in their system and again if they continue to receive complaints about Spreets, they have the option of taking further legal action. I urge anyone that has problems with Spreets in turns of paying for a service or product that they don’t provide to take it to the Office of Fair Trading because they will actually do something for you.

Ordered a $16.00 Magnetic Sly Screen Door mid January. Money taken from visa but to date nothing has arrived. Can’t find any way of contacting Spreets to ask what’s happening. All other buys have been succesful but am now worried it’s going to fall in a heap.

If you have facebook, like the spreets fb page and then write a comment on there. I’ve had a look and it seems like you are definitely not the only one have trouble with them about the fly screens. I’m sorry to say this but this could be one long process for you. Good luck

I have been waiting for a stemaer for 8 weeks. I have sent dozen of emails to spreets, all I ever get from them ” so sorry, the steamer is coming this week” Well, this week it’s going to be 9 weeks. I have demanded a refund for which they refuse. Their service is completely outrageous! Does anyone have any suggestions how to get a refund from them?

Hi to all the Spreet customers out there, I have just read the comments made by all you unhappy people out there , well it may look like that I will join the long list of very unhappy Spreets Customers along with a negative comment .
Where do I start ? How about last year, yeah those helicopters from $90 down to $29 ordered way before Christmas , what a nice present for my Son so I thought ( he has the traits or border line of autism ) I thought by purchasing this for him it would teach him how to use his auto skills ie hand /eye co ordination & to help him increase his mental /lateral way of thinking. I even purchased one for myself thinking we could do the Father & Son thing on Christmas Day , WRONG , NO HELICOPTER/S so much for having them for Christmas. I found out that you could get the same ones , same price in certain shops & outlets. Now here is the thing Christmas Day is very specia,l especially when I have my Son , I don’t get many Chritmas Days off not to mention to share that special day with my Son. Christmas Eve still NO HELICOPTER so I rushed out & bought other gifts. I received an email from Spreets saying there was alot of orders & I would be receiving my items as soon as they became available. I received an email giving me tracking numbers & YES Surprise ! the numbers couldn’t be tracked . Eventually I received it 6 – 8 weeks later , crushed box ( both ) & all. I opened 1 box & I was surprised to see that it wasn’t damaged, it looked like it had been run over by a truck, to my surprise it works. I discovered this web page by accident & after reading alot of the negative comments I’m really worried because I have just spent alot of money on different purchases & I’ve already had the money deducted out of my bank acc0unt, money is hard enough to earn & put in countless of hours of overtime to survive through these tough times. I purchased the magnetic fly screens x2 it took forever to get here , I received it last week , I ordered 2 & I received 1, I rang the company & yes I got the moden day secretary …the answering machine & yes I have sent emails to this company & to the Spreets people, I will keep all you people informed of the outcome .Are you listening SPREETS ? We people, as the customer/ s are keeping you people employed in a job if you don’t look after the customer , the customer won’t look after you, THINK ABOUT IT. As for the Spreets Customers , Goodluck & thank you for your time. Mr. S

On January18th, 2012, I bought a set of Halo Headphones on your site. I followed the instructions to redeem my headphones but it is now been 2 months since my purchase and I still haven’t received delivery of the headphones I paid for. It’s very disappointing when you make a purchase, pay your money in good faith and end up with nothing in return. I would like a refund for the money I paid for goods not received.

Fay, I assume you have gone through the usual channels before you have ended up here?

16 days and still no response from Spreets to my Refund request (ticket #198513) Watershed Car Wash 35 Hoddle Street Richmond, VIC will not honour the purchased vouchers because of an expiry date error made by Spreets. I don’t understand why this has to be so difficult, I gave Spreets money for vouchers which can’t be used – why on earth do Spreets just not sort it?

Well it’s been 18 days now and not a word from Spreets.
I had a problem with Scoopon also. I requested a refund on a Saturday night just before a Monday public holiday and the refund was back in my card by Tuesday. Well done Scoopon! At least some websites know how to retain their customers.

If you have facebook, like the spreets page and then post your ticket no. there and that they need to contact you now. Apparently a lot of people actually get contacted once you’ve been on there. If you are looking for a refund, try calling paypal because thats what you would’ve gone through to pay for your voucher. Also maybe think about making a formal complaint to office of fair trading in your state. A company like this that has no respect for their customers and is happy to take money without providing the product or service should be shut down. If enough people complain, maybe the government will shut them down.

This company should not be allowed to sell anything online:
This is by far the worst online purchasing experience I have ever had.
We have bought a steamer on feb 16 . 4 weeks after the purchase I contact the customer service team to request an update on when I am supposed to receive my steamer: here is the answer:

Sid, Feb 21 10:35 (EST):
Hi Spreeter,
As of Friday, last week, the merchant has already confirmed that all steamers have been handed over to Auspost for delivery. I’m sure it’s already on it’s way and you should be receiving it soon. We apologise on behalf of the merchant for the inconvenience caused.
Kind Regards,
Sid”

2 weeks later still no steamer, I sent another email here is the answer:
“Sid, Mar 02 14:26 (EST):
Hi Spreeter,
Thank you for contacting us. M.I.A have put up a message on their website, http://www.missinginaction.com.au/ last week, regarding the steamer delivery. Please let us know when you do receive your steamer, which should be within the next week to 10 days. We once again apologise for the delay but be rest assured that your steamer should be with you soon.
Kind Regards,
Sid”

2 weeks after that we sent another email and this time we got a tracking number that is actually Invalid.
As of today we still haven’t received the steamer we bought!

I would stay stay away from this website!

Spreets are sooo bad we have had no end of trouble, bought a travel deal back in August, all booked and ready to to only to be advised from Hotel they have cancelled our booking and to contact Spreets. OMG finally get a reply from Spreets saying sorry and will refund money, that was a month ago, how long does it take to make a bank deposit, I can do it over night. Now we get no replies from them at all and of course you can’t ring them. We have had enough and would never buy anything off them again. If you look at their reviews you would be right to say I was stupid to buy from them in first place.
